OTHER QUILTING GROUPS AND QUILT SHOWS AND WORKSHOPS

Many national and regional organizations promote various aspects of quilting.  There are shows and workshops run by them and many of our members participate.

Quilt Groups

SAQA  - Studio Art Quilt Associates - Promotes art quilters with exhibits and publications. Local group in central New York State.

AQS - American Quilters Society.  Runs shows in many locations and publishes magazines

NQA - National Quilting Association - Runs shows and has local chapters.

PAQA - Professional Art Quilt Alliance - Fosters and nourishes innovation in art quilt and art garment field.

Workshops

Quilting by the Lake (QBL) offers workshops on many aspects of quilting during the summer at Onondaga Community College near Syracuse. Many of our members participate, and we often organize a day trip to see the workshops, vendors and a lecture by one of the teachers.

Studio Schweinfurth (QBL2) has fiber and fine art workshops at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center in Auburn throughout the year.
