Committees

Membership Committee
Chair Person: Barbara Dimock
Purpose of committee:
1. Greet new members, help them join, and give them membership packets. Give new member information to newsletter committee for mailing list. Write articles for the newsletter introducing new members.
2. Greet visitors and give them "Visitor Information" handouts.
3. Collect annual dues and keep an updated membership list. Prepare annual membership list for distribution in the December newsletter.
4. Make up and update membership packets.

Other Membership Committee activities
1. Make up and update Guild flyers. Make sure there are enough on hand for Guild events.
2. Organize "Farewell Block" project. Make sure that farewell blocks are signed and given to those leaving. Keep fabric, templates, and blocks. Ask for volunteers to make blocks as needed.
3. Organize Holiday party and other social events that the Guild has. Keep hospitality supplies.
Current activites planned: Have a table set up at 4th Tuesday meetings to handle any membership-related work. This might include information for new members, information on satellite groups, or any other questions/problems Guild members might have.

Budget & Allocations Committee
Chair Person:
Purpose of Committee: The purpose of the Budget & Allocations Committee is to establish a budget for the Guild and to allocate money to each of our standing committees and to other needs to keep the Guild running. The budget process takes place every two years. It always follows the Guild quilt show since that is our big moneymaking event. The Guild treasurer is an integral part of this committee. Occasionally the committee will meet for special need allocations as requested by the treasurer or president.

Current Projects planned: None. Our next budget process will begin in the Fall of 2003.

Social Committee
Chair Person: Kathleen Wadell
Purpose of the Committee: To mail cards, order flowers to Guild members of their immediate family in the event of illness/surgery, birth or death.
